Foreign Painting Breaks - 10th to 17th October 2004:
Why not join us for an autumn break and discover the historical 17th century city of Dubrovnik on the Adriatic coastline. Dubrovnik is a preserved Renaissance city set within gigantic medieval walls, its smooth white exterior is dramatically offset by the rugged mountains behind. Known as a living museum for the 3,000 people who still inhabitthe Old Town, today the narrow streets are buzzing with activity and the lane ways are filled with Gothic monastic settlements, baroque civic buildings and Renaissance churches and squares –along with fresh fruit and flower markets – cafés shops and boutiques. Obviously an ideal place to paint and explore. There is much to offer around Dubrovnik. The Elafati islands are perfect for a days trip, or the beautiful mountain scenery of nearby Montenegro just south of Dubrovnik is well worth a visit. Our accommodation is at Hotel Lapad, which is an old Victorian style hotel set on the waters edge in the suburbs of Debrovnik. This is a two and three star hotel with swimming pool, restaurant with terrace bar and aperitif bar. Buffet breakfast and waiter service for dinner. All rooms have shower, toilet, telephone and satellite T.V. Superior rooms include air conditioning and seaside views with balcony. For any information regarding this years holiday to Dubrovnik which takes place between the 10th and 17th of October, 2004 please contact Joe or Sue Keys on (00353) 214821888
